Our family loves custard-filled pastries like cream puffs, custard-filled donuts, and eclairs. My wife shared her egg custard pie recipe back in 2013. To satisfy the craving we usually go to nearby Krispy Kreme and buy their chocolate iced custard-filled donuts.
3 egg yolks
45 grams of sugar or 5 1/2 packets of Truvia
10 grams of cornstarch
300 mL of whole milk
5ml of vanilla extract
1 pinch of salt
Banana cue, camote cue, bitso-bitso, turon, maruya, lumpia, tokneneng etc. are common street foods that can be bought in any public market in Northern Luzon or I think all over the Philippines.
Puto or steamed muffin is a famous Filipino snack or dessert which can be made from rice flour or all purpose flour.

Kutsinta Filipino Recipe. Kutsinta or puto kutsinta has been a long, famous snack (meryenda) or dessert among Filipinos.
Yema Recipe. Yema has been a favorite “finger” dessert for Filipinos. It’s sweet, creamy, and tasty because of the crushed peanuts added to it.
Special bibingka in Ilocos Region is one of the most famous “pasalubong”. When you travel in Ilocos riding in a bus, there are vendors who hop in a bus selling bibingka, kalamay, chichacorn, puto and others.
Egg Custard Pie. I made a recipe of this because this is the favorite of the family as a dessert. No doubt because it’s really delicious, satisfying everyone’s sweet tooth and it’s also very easy to make. 🙂
Bilo bilo or tambo tambong is an original Filipino dish that can be a meryenda or dessert.
Palitaw is an authentic Filipino dessert or meryenda made of glutinous or sweet rice flour.
Champorado or “chocolate rice porridge” is one of the best meryenda or snack during rainy days. I remember my childhood days when my mother cook this for us when there is storm, paired with fried dried fish (daing nga bulilit wenno espada nga sida) or sometimes just plain champorado will do and it satisfies our palate.
